Job Description
My client are working to bring fairer, related insurance to everyone. To help improve safety and the impact of driving on the environment. To make world class fleet management accessible to any business, regardless of size.
They are now looking for a talented Visual & UI Designer to join our small and dynamic Product team.

About you
You're an experienced, hands on, Visual & UI Designer, passionate about creating beautiful and innovative design solutions across mobile and web. When you see poorly designed mobile apps or websites, it makes you cringe and determined never to make the same mistakes. You pride yourself on your ability to transform awesome ideas and complex problems into great interactive
experiences that delight the real people that use them.
You're obsessed with perfection, a pixel-aware designer who is as capable of working through the detail as you are setting visual direction. You'll have a deep understanding of typography, use of colour, composition, interaction design and responsive design. You'll appreciate contemporary and modern user-centred designs, with clean yet powerful aesthetics that drive brands forward.
You'll be a self-starter, capable of working in a fast paced start up environment.

What you'll do:
- Create engaging, useful user interfaces for a wide range of products on both mobile and web.
- Evolve and shape the brand identity through your experience design strategy.
- Take complex problems and interactions, and distil these into clear and understandable design solutions.
- Communicate your ideas through sketches, mock-ups and prototypes.
- Provide development ready design assets, and clearly communicate your requirements to the development teams building your designs.
- Work on non branded apps for leading big-name clients and partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design solutions for new projects.
- Be at the forefront of UI design in the automotive space, exploring how experiences will translate to connected cars and future technology.

What you'll need:
- Mastery of visual design principles and best practices as they apply to web and mobile user interfaces.
- Proven ability to create fantastic visuals of new products and features.
- Strong knowledge of information architecture principles and how to simplify complex data through design.
- A desire to stay current with the latest design and technology trends, and be able to adapt your work to take full advantage of these trends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, capable of articulating your design decisions to key stakeholders and external clients.
- Agility and be able to think on your feet.
- 3+ years experience in a similar role.
- A strong portfolio of real world examples of your visual & interaction expertise.
- Proficiency in a variety of design tools including Photoshop & Illustrator.

It would be great if you had:
- Experience of prototyping tools such as Axure or Proto.io.
- Experience of designing user interfaces for consumer facing products or services.
- Experience of creating style guides for mobile apps or websites.
