We have an exciting opportunity within our Global Education team for an Associate Marketing Director. 

Reporting to the Channel Development Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy in EMEA. This role will focus on driving sales in the academic channel, accelerating the uptake of existing digital and custom solutions, supporting the development of new solutions and services, providing strategic marketing leadership and repositioning the business as a leading Education Solutions provider. 

The main focus of this role will be to develop and execute customer-centric marketing strategies for digital and print products and services that address customer needs and deliver highly qualified leads to the sales organisation. They will also provide the sales teams with product/solutions sales tools to enable them to identify, develop and close adoption opportunities, as well as working with the editorial group to develop next generation digital solutions for the EMEA market.

The successful candidate will manage the marketing team and evolve the focus of marketing activities from print to digital products and services, particularly online teaching & learning solutions and our evolving custom capabilities. They will also be responsible for the adoption of marketing automation tools and techniques to fully understand our customers, drive and manage their interactions with Wiley and deliver highly qualified prospects to the sales group. In addition this position will lead the marketing team’s activities in researching, analysing and identifying target markets for new digital solutions and services in EMEA and work with the publishing group to implement market development activities for key products and solutions.

Working alongside the Channel Development Director, they will also provide strategic marketing planning leadership for the EMEA region. These activities will include identifying and profiling key customer segments, establishing key strategic aspirations and pain points for these groups and identifying capabilities and services that address these customer needs.

Associate Marketing Director Selection Criteria:

> Strong people management skills and experience leading and managing change processes
> Excellent analytical skills - can lead and participate in problem solving
> Strong communication and influencing skills and ability to network effectively within and outside the organisation
> Experience of modern marketing techniques which support the marketing function including digital marketing, CRM and marketing automation is essential
> Ability to critically evaluate and improve processes and performance
> Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of mediums (electronic, phone, face to face, body language);
> Ability to translate strategies into objectives and action plans with measurable outcomes; and break down complex problems/tasks into manageable parts.
> Experience managing varied workflows, prioritising key tasks and allocating time efficiently
> Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with peers, colleagues, management, and others
> Understands customer segmentation and analysis, and is able to develop marketing messages that resonate with key customer aspirations and demonstrate how our products and services can help address them
> Education to degree level or equivalent is essential. Professional marketing qualifications would be advantageous.
> Efficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
