Smoking Cessation Advisor - Healthcare

A Healthcare Advisor is sought to join this highly innovative, flexible, independent provider of telehealth and health improvement services, to work as part of their Stop Smoking team covering the Berkshire and Oxfordshire areas.

The organisation provides integrated lifestyles services including, weight management, health trainers, Health Checks, and falls prevention. Complimented by an Information System and Technology Enabled Care Division the organisation is bringing the latest technological developments and digital platforms to the delivery of services.

Quitting smoking help is delivered in a range of settings including primary care, workplaces and community settings to contribute to achieving the Stop Smoking service target for Berkshire.

Title: Smoking Cessation Advisor
Location: Covering Berkshire & Oxfordshire (head office in Reading, the role requires travelling)
Salary: £18,838 - £22,016 per annum

The Smoking Cessation Advisor will be responsible for the following:
- Promoting and encouraging smokers to access the local Stop Smoking service, by ensuring resources are displayed across the city
- Providing Stop Smoking support to clients across localities to meet the needs of smokers in key locations and groups of need
- Managing a caseload of clients, including setting quit dates and providing behavioural support
- Maintaining accurate and clear client records, adhering to the Data Protection Act
- Liaising with other health professionals, including GPs, pharmacies and midwives

The ideal Smoking Cessation Advisor will possess the following skills and experience:
- A relevant degree level qualification in a Healthcare / Counselling related subject
- Knowledge of behaviour change models
- Assessment and counselling skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The willingness to undergo a DBS check
- Experience within the Healthcare market would be advantageous, although not essential
- Local knowledge of the Berkshire area
