Who is Royal London?

Since 1861, when Royal London was founded in a London coffee shop, plenty has changed (although the popularity of coffee shops remains undiminished). First we were a friendly society then a mutual insurance company. We started out by helping people to avoid the stigma of a pauper's grave. We have been helping people to help themselves ever since. We think that's the best way to build communities.

Our vision is to become the UK's leading customer-owned financial services organisation. The specialist businesses that make up the Royal London Group are clearly positioned within their markets and our goal is to provide innovative solutions that match the needs of distribution partners and customers.

Royal London is the largest mutual life, pensions and investment company in the UK, with Group funds under management of GBP82.3 billion. Group businesses serve around 5.3 million policy holders and employ 2,829 people. (Figures quoted are as at 31 December 2014).

The Group is currently moving all of its UK businesses under a new version of the Royal London brand. The Group's independent wrap platform will remain branded Ascentric.
