The GTS Enterprise Systems Management team has a mission to maximise service quality for our customers, and to help teams across Experian meet their goals through collaboration, tooling and data sharing. Under the ESM umbrella we have teams managing Monitoring, Process Automation and IT Service Systems, and these groups are in need of an experienced IT Developer to take our development competency to a new level.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will have a variety of software development projects and tool administration tasks to work on. The nature of our work changes from time to time but three current examples include:

  • Web Portal for Experian customers to log and view Incident and Request tickets into the USD Helpdesk backend. This currently serves two regions for Decision Analytics customers, and our vision is to expand this to more Business Units and more regions.
  • Splunk data analysis and integration. A vast quantity and variety of IT service data comes through the ESM team, and Splunk allows us to analyse this to provide useful business insight and make better decisions on servicing our customers. We are developing an office monitoring application that will report back from Experian offices what the user experience is. Rather than making assumptions about the quality of local service from afar, we will deploy a remote app that sends feedback to the global operations centre so GTS can react more effectively to those issues preventing people from working efficiently.
  • Design, develop and test software solutions to meet our team objectives (this may be modifying existing code or writing new code from scratch)
  • Devise standards for code development, release and testing
  • Train, coach and mentor other team members who are interested in working on software development assignments
  • "Design for Service" - ensure all code is operationally ready and fit for purpose, through handovers, documentation and training for the rest of the team, and through careful consideration for how the solution will perform in the operational environment
  • For the services provided by the software developed, market them according to the Experian audience at hand
  • Liaison with ESM stakeholders to help shape and deliver their requirements, and gather their feedback
  • Recommend software architecture model for ESM and input into infrastructure architecture model discussions
  • Collaborate with operational, technical and non-technical business teams in all global regions
  • Create and communicate business cases for any recommended software development investments, and track the resulting benefits

  • Understand and participate in performance management processes
  • Actively contribute to a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business. Take personal responsibility to ensure that you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of our customers.
