NFER is looking to recruit an Applications Developer to our highly skilled ICT team which provides both application development and ICT infrastructure expertise to the Foundation’s varied research and product programme and to our corporate management systems.
We are seeking an Applications Developer to work with the Applications Development Manager to develop and support our bespoke web applications, mainly using the Microsoft development stack.
Main activities of the Application Developer will include:
- Developing applications using object orientated languages such as C#
- Developing and building relational databases
- Querying datasets from relational databases.
- Developing web based systems using ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Maintaining, supporting and updating current and future applications
To become our new Applications Developer you should have a strong knowledge of an object oriented language such as C# or Java, and experience of using this language in at least one significant project (commercial experience preferred); other essential requirements are:
- A good understanding of relational databases and experience using SQL
- An understanding of the principles of web application development including a good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
