Overview:

The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver key analytical projects to the business. As directed by the Analytics Manager the role holder will support a number of key stakeholders across the business, including; Business Development & Marketing, Credit Risk Strategies, Operations, Digital, Innovation, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Data Warehouse.

The role holder will build an understanding of the data environment, the operational model and business goals and objectives - then leverage this understanding against technical know-how to support the development of fit for purpose scorecards, models, tools, insights and recommendations that that drive efficiency, control, financial benefits and improved customer outcomes.

The role holder must ensure that they work within agreed business control policy and procedures - they will be required to support the team in developing and maintaining materials to satisfy internal and external audit and control functions (e.g. model governance documentation, monitoring and tracking reports, project signoff documentation).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the production and development of a range of interpretative analytics. Formulation of conclusions and recommendations from the analysis to support the business in making better decisions. Examples include; Internal/External insight analysis, Benchmarking, Behavioral analysis.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and delivery of accurate, robust and functional analytical toolsets (e.g. predictive models, scorecards, optimisations and segmentations), by providing key inputs into the process as directed by the Analytics Manager.
  • Utilises various analytics, data sources and reporting suites to build an understanding of financial performance and identify trends which will lead to overall P&L impact. Develop recommendations and insights around potential gaps, opportunities and threats across the business, using both internal and external sources.
  • Builds strong and sustainable relationships across various LOB's, assisting in the development and realisation of the engagement model and integration of analytics across the business.
  • Utilises all available Data (internal, external), Tools and Techniques as applicable to deliver appropriate analytics to solve key business problems and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policy (Enterprise and LOB) relating to delivery and deployment of analysis and tools. Developing and maintaining an efficient monitoring and tracking of model inventory and performance and ensuring timely completion of all governance and control requirements.

Requirements:

  • SAS or SQL experience
  • Degree in a numeric/statistical field
  • Analytical capability - Demonstration of strong analytical and numerical skills and ability to convert business problems in to data driven management insights and solutions.
  • Technical capability - knowledge of SAS, ability to interrogate databases to construct detailed analysis/reporting. Ability to develop efficient solutions to minimise processing time on the server.
  • Microsoft Office Experience - Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - Demonstration of ability to convey complex analytical findings to non technical/statistical stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Programming Language / Analytical Tools - Experience in SAS programming and/or Business Analytics/Business Intelligence software (e.g. Data Mining, Statistical Analysis, Text Analytics, Optimization, Forecasting).
  • Strong Business Acumen / Financial Services Experience - Understanding of how the business P&L works and how business strategy can impact its key drivers.
