Data Centre Support Engineer Job Purpose:

Responsible for data centre technical support and remote hands to external clients & internal employees, assisting them with server, application, desktop, networking and hardware problems and Change Requests via phone, email & fax. This job will involve 24/7/365 shift work and call-out working.

Ideally you will be able to start immediately but consideration will be given for the right candidate. 

Data Centre Support Engineer Key Responsibilities:

> Assisting with and maintaining customer solutions.
> Liaising with other technical departments to support customer solutions.
> Helping with server set-up/configuration and support.
> Assisting in keeping the data centre facilities operational 24/7.
> Assisting with general housekeeping duties.

Datacentre Support Engineer Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

To meet customer requirements the ideal candidate will have:

> Data Centre experience - Ideally 2+ years in a similar position. 
> Rack set-ups and builds.
> Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, distribution boards, air-conditioning units – Training can be provided.
> Building and maintaining servers, with server hardware technologies such as RAID.
> Experience with installing and initial setup of windows/Linux.
> Experience testing and fault diagnosing components such as RAM, CPUs, Hard drives etc.
> Experience in cabling with a keen eye for detail. (Cat5e/6/Fibre optics).
> Fibre terminations – LC/SC/APC – Training can be provided.
> Have basic troubleshooting experience with windows server 2003 & 2008 and/or Linux
> Worked previously with HP/Dell server hardware.
> One or more of the following levels of qualification - certifications would be beneficial by the candidate:
> CompTIA Server+
> CompTIA A+
> MCITP
>CCNA
