  • Setting in Deptford, London (Immediate start)
  • Setting in Sittingbourne, Kent (September/October 2015 start date)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to join our team and manage one of our highly rated nurseries to the highest standard.

We are seeking an exceptional Early Years Nursery Manager to work alongside the owner and Management Team to ensure that the nursery is run according to company policies and procedures to ensure every child's interests, safety & happiness is central to everything we do.
We are striving for OUTSTANDING and require a Nursery Manager who is confident to enable us to reach that goal.

The perfect candidate for the role of Nursery Manager will come from an outstanding, large nursery background.

Essential

  • Must hold a relevant childcare qualification (level 3 as minimum but ideally level 6)
  • Excellent understanding of the EYFS
  • Have proven nursery management experience in a setting with a 'good' or 'outstanding' Ofsted
  • At least 3 years Leadership/Management experience
  • Pediatric First Aid
  • Safeguarding Training
  • SENCO Experience/ Training
  • Experience of managing large staff team.
  • Excellent staff management skills
  • Be passionate about providing the highest quality of childcare possible
  • The ability to work on own initiative

Main Duties

  • To have overall responsibility for the running of the nursery
  • To oversee the activity programs to ensure all staff prepare and supervise suitable activities to create and develop a stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to socialise and develop to their full potential.
  • To provide a stimulating, safe and caring environment in which all children can develop emotionally and socially through individual attention and group activities.
  • Your role will be key to continuously improving practice across the Early Years Foundation Stage. To support and mentor other practitioners and model the skills and behaviors that safeguard and promote good outcomes for children.
  • To lead on planning and monitoring of EYFS learning, preparing, planning, attending meetings and facilitating teaching within the nursery. This includes helping every individual child to achieve to their full potential and measuring these achievements against the pre-set learning goals.
  • To provide high standards of childcare and education, which includes the monitoring and reviews of provision and the ability to set appropriate limits for Children.
  • To be involved in the recruitment process by interviewing and selecting staff and ensuring that each member of staff is given induction training and encouraged to attend further training as and when identified.
  • To ensure that all staff implement the nurseries policies and procedures at all times.
  • To ensure that the nursery complies to health and safety regulations and to Ofsted, EYFS and Safeguarding guidelines.
  • To follow guidelines and procedures to ensure that the nursery is running to its full capacity and is efficient in operation in line with Ofsted ratio guidelines.
  • To be responsible for effectively marketing the nursery to customers in the local area and organising events to promote the nursery.
  • To manage staff in the nursery, which includes dealing with performance, conduct and absence issues and conducting annual appraisals.
