StepChange Debt Charity is seeking a innovative Debt Advice Team Leader to join the team based in our  Chester office on a 12 month fixed term contract. The successful applicants will receive a salary of £25,830 per annum plus benefits.

 We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Debt Advice Team Leader to join our dynamic department in Chester City Centre.

 About the role of Debt Advice Team Leader :

The successful candidates will be responsible for the day to day running of their team, allocating work and ensuring that this is carried out to the highest standards of accuracy and quality. A key element of the role will be to support and develop team members through one to ones, appraisals and coaching. You’ll ensure a highly motivated and effective team that will achieve the department service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs).

 To be successful as our Debt Advice Team Leader you’ll need to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills along with the ability to analyse problems and provide effective solutions. You’ll identify and implement initiatives aimed at improving operational processes.  You must be highly numerate and have the ability to organise and motivate your team. You’ll be an experienced and effective coach, able to tailor your feedback style to the individual.

 Previous team leader experience or equivalent will be required, in particular:

- Setting objectives for a team and regularly reviewing performance against these objectives.

- Performing quality assessments and delivering coaching and feedback.

- Motivating and developing a team.

- Excellent listening and communication skills.

- A good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word.

 You will we working a rotating shift pattern, week one will be 9am or 10am to 6pm then the week two will be 12.30pm to 8.30pm, Monday to Friday. You'll also work alternate Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. On the weeks where you work Saturdays you'll have a day off during the week. You’ll have Sundays off every week.
