As part of this renewed focus we are expanding the current ITDR function into a new future Target Operating Model. This will be aligned to FCA regulatory and critical Business Requirements, with a mandate to deliver an ITDR step change across our Technology, Operational and business service functions (Group Operations) covering approximately 6000 colleagues.

Who we're looking for

This is a visible role, where you will be a Consultant Lead within a team of technical professionals collectively delivering the NBS ITDR mandatory testing and process commitments to the FCA and FPS. Liaising with and matrix managing mainly IT colleagues and Business colleagues across the Group, you will be responsible for planning and delivering your part the ITDR Testing Strategy.

You will own and test a subset portfolio of applications that support the Business Mission Critical Activities, this portfolio will consist mainly of the Platinum and complex applications that reside mainly on the core mainframe and platforms with many interfaces. In addition, you will be responsible for providing ITDR status to internal / external regulators (FCA/FPS) and engaging with BAU ITIL Functions and Platforms as well as with Projects, providing ITDR consultancy.

You will have an in-depth experience of the ITDR standard function processes and preferably have experience within the following functions:

  • Technology infrastructure platforms
  • Implementations of major infrastructure change / large technical programme implementations
  • The project lifecycle (NCF) and processes and ITIL processes (Change, Incident and Problem)

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a disciplined and strategic approach to delivering your portfolio and projects' scope and have experience of leading a team(s) (either directly or matrix managed). You will be a strong technical planner, articulate communicator, self starter, a natural problem solver and an influencer with a strong analytical and strategic approach.



What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of Nationwide's IT Disaster Recovery 1 - 3 years Operational Strategy
  • Agree, drive, own and communicate your portion of the Disaster Recovery Testing Schedule, which will include COMBINED platform events
  • You will supply ITDR expert consultancy to NBS platforms, projects and 3rd Parties
  • Leading and matrix managing teams of platform / project SMEs and Business in ITDR testing
  • Identifying and influencing the implementation of ways to exploit new technologies to aid ITDR
  • Responsibility for your complex portfolio of ITDR, procedures, plans, results (RTOs) and MI
  • Medium Stakeholder Management (Platform Team Leads) and interfaces (internal and external)
  • Committed to and demonstrating a culture and belief in Continuous Improvement in your results
