Data Protection Lead

A fantastic and challenging role has been signed off at a global institution in the form of a Senior Data Protection Lead. This individual will be responsible for the implementation of a governance and data policy framework encouraging and creating awareness of data protection law in the different functions of the business regionally and internationally.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to interact with individuals up to board level.
• Strong understanding of the legal aspects of DPA and how they will impact the business regionally and internationally.
• Proven experience of implementing policy/frameworks end to end in a business/corporate environment

Responsibilities will include:

• Mapping out critical systems, data flows, stores, users in the business
• Assessing impacts of new privacy laws on the relevant business area, advise on any process or documentation changes necessary and monitoring implementation
• Provide and/or coordinate data protection advice on new projects, transactions or data security breaches within the business area, including with regard to communications to data protection regulators.
