£6,504 - £7,284 pro rata (£13,550 - £15,176 FTE) 

We are seeking an experienced cook for our Very Sheltered Housing complex, The Croft in Alexandria.

You will assist with the ordering, purchasing and storing of food, ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are met at all times. You will prepare menus in consultation with the tenants, taking individual dietary requirements and preferences into consideration. It is also the cook’s responsibility to ensure that kitchen equipment and the surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining income and expenditure receipts and advising new members of staff on food health and safety standards within the development.

The ideal candidate must have good communication skills along with the ability to develop and maintain relationships. Experience of planning, preparing, cooking and delivering a high standard of meal service with an interest in the needs of older people is also an essential requirement. An SVQ Food Preparation Level 2 or a REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Hours of employment are 18 per week organised as follows;
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 9 am -1 pm & 3.30 pm -5.30 pm.
