Student Engagement Advisor (Youth Worker) BLUS26221
Kingston, Surrey
Salary £23,185 - £27,375 pro rata, per annum inclusive of London Allowance

Our Client is one of the highest performing colleges in London, rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2013. The College has reinvigorated its focus on improving the student experience, raising student aspirations and delivering consistently good and outstanding teaching, learning and assessment. As a major provider of further, higher and adult education to over 10,000 students, their staff have quality at the heart of everything they do.

They are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Student Engagement Advisor (SEA) to join the team on a permanent basis.  The post holder will be required to work 36 hours per week for 42 weeks of the year (during term time). They will consider fractional applications for the position.

As Student Engagement Advisor, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and flexible presence at the Student Support Centre, daily student communal activity areas and at other satellite sites to provide support around a diverse range of issues as well as programmed enrichment and Students’ Union opportunities. Working in close liaison with other Student Engagement Advisor’s, you will work as part of a team to support students in achieving their full potential by offering a holistic support or enrichment package tailored to their needs.

Candidates for this role must be qualified to Level 3 or above and have previous experience of youth and community work. You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers. The role requires an individual with a calm and positive ‘can-do’ approach and who can work well independently or in a team.

Willing to work towards PTLLS or another relevant professional qualification, you will demonstrate an awareness and empathy when dealing with young people and the many factors that could potentially impact on student success.

They have Student Engagement Advisor roles available with either a Pastoral or Enrichment focus.  Please state which position you are interested in your Supporting Statement on the application form.

Closing Date: Tuesday 7th July
Interview Dates: 22nd or 23rd July
