My client, a world leader in High Performance Computing Systems and Servers has an immediate opening for a talented software engineer / Computer Scientist at their European R&D site, based in Bristol, UK. This is a great opportunity for a software engineer to join a growing team of talented developers who are working on advanced architectures, databases and networking concepts for future distributed systems and cloud based technologies, working with colleagues and industry partners and academia around the globe.

The successful software engineer will be specifically working on research and development projects for managing large computing networks including technologies in cloud computing, visualisation, HPC data centres, scientific and financial systems.

Candidates will have a good degree in a relevant subject and proven software development skills, more specifically :

- C/C++ software programming, Java would also be useful.
- Scripting skills in Python or similar
- Software Development of concurrent and distributed applications
- An understanding of techniques for developing redundant and resilient systems
- Communications networking protocols and software such as TCP/IP
