Customer Support - Technical Support - STB - Set Top Box - IPTV - TV over IP - Video Broadcast Standards - HTML - JavaScript - Linux - Customer Support - Cambridge - UK
My client, a market leader in the Set Top Box and IPTV industry, is looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join the team delivering top notch DVB and STB technical support to their EMEA customer base and help manage the technical relationships with key clients.
Strong customer interaction skills are essential for this role - you won't be the type to shy away from customers or the telephone.
You'll be working in a close knit team as a key point of contact for customers and you'll be able to take ownership and resolve issues whilst delivering periodical reports and updates on progress and issue resolution. You'll have an understanding of STB technologies, preferably including TV over IP, unicast, multicast and / or network infrastructure with a grounding in Linux. Experience with HTML, JavaScript, MPEG and broadcast software will be an advantage and you'll most likely have 5 years+ experience in a similar type of role.
Essential skills and experience:
-Experience in a customer facing technical role
-Strong diagnostic and issue resolution skills
-Sound understanding of STB software
-Linux OS
Desirable experience:
-Skills in any of the following:
-HTML
-Javascript
-MPEG
-Broadcast Technologies
Preferred experience level:
-5 years +
