We are looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Chef, someone who really wants to influence the vision and direction of the nursery and has a passion for cooking.

The responsibilities include:

  • The Nursery Chef will work with the Room Leaders, and report into the Deputy Nursery Manager and Nursery Manager.
  • To prepare and cook food for the babies and young children in the nursery.
  • A full job description will be provided if the candidate is shortlisted

    Qualifications:

  • Level 3 in Food Hygiene is essential.
  • Desirable are any further qualifications in Catering.
  • The Role:

  • To have experience of food preparation for groups of 80+, serving at specified times
  • To have knowledge about and experience of cooking for babies and young children
  • To have knowledge and experience of stock ordering and control.
  • To have knowledge and experience of Health and Safety Standards.
  • To have knowledge of and experience of babies and young children.
  • To have knowledge of common food allergies.
  • Experience & Skills Required:

  • To be able to cook well, an appealing variety of dishes for babies and young children.
  • To be able to think creatively and plan ahead to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • To operate a 'safe' working kitchen, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
  • To be organised and systematic in your approach.
  • To interact well with the children in the nursery and their parents.
  • To work well within the staff team, supporting whenever needed.
