Learning Support Mentor

English & Maths Specialist TAs required

A number of Primary and Secondary Schools in the Enfield, Hertfordshire and North London areas are looking to appoint Academic Mentors who specialise in supporting Literacy and/or Numeracy across the year groups. The roles are due to start now and will continue in September 2015.

As a Literacy/Numeracy Support Specialist you will provide both in class and one-to-one support to a range of mixed ability students. Your main focus will be to help students prepare for their GCSE and A'Level exams, offer 1:1 support and run interventions.

Experience supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Difficulties is ideal but not essential. Our roles offer scope for training and professional development and provide an opportunity to make a real contribution to the education of individual students.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Hold a degree in one of the core subjects (English, Maths and/or Science)
Have proven experience working with young people in a secondary school setting
Have a proven track record of advancing pupil learning
Be committed, flexible and able to use your own initiative
Have a good knowledge of the UK national curriculum
