The rules of Business Mobility are changing and our entrepreneurially spirited Risk team is expanding to meet these challenges. This role will play a pivotal part in our success; you will be responsible for ensuring that credit and interest risks are identified, analysed, acted upon and communicated appropriately with key internal and external stakeholders and that the Risk policy and strategy for both credit and interest remains appropriate for the evolving business. 
 
The role:

  • Assist, challenge and steer the executive team and business strategy in light of the current level of portfolio credit and interest rate risk and expectations of future risks that may arise
  • Develop and maintain the credit and interest risk strategy for Alphabet in alignment with the business strategy; including the concepts of Value at Risk, limit setting and risk appetite
  • Ensure the methodologies, assessment of credit provision, that local processes and controls are robust
  • Manage and analyse credit scorecards; assess and report on credit and interest risk Key Risk indicators
  • Lead a small team and communicate throughout the business effectively

 
The Individual:

  • Proven experience in detailed analysis of financial statements and ideally, some experience of credit underwriting
  • Good understanding of how credit risks may arise and how to measure, analyse and manage those risks
  • Extensive financial accounting knowledge – with relevant qualifications – and an awareness of  financial instruments and methods used to fund a business
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence commercial and operational stakeholders drawn from a wide audience Inspirational leader; able to manage, motivate and develop people to derive collective and personal success
