Team Leader (Crime Charity)
Victim Support is the national charity that helps people affected by crime. As we face the challenges and opportunities of developing and delivering our services nationwide, we are looking for outstanding Team Leaders to drive the organisation forward.
The position is full time, permanent and you will be required to work a shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and one Saturday per month. The role
As a Team Leader you will assist the London Services Manager in managing the performance of your team and ensuring effective, quality services are delivered to people affected by crime.
Your other responsibilities will include:
• Developing the staff team and address their individual development/performance needs, setting individual and team objectives and undertaking annual appraisals.
• Maintaining performance information and using outcomes to identify effective practice.
• Ensuring services are improved or changes made where necessary, to deliver an efficient and effective service to victims and their families.
• Monitoring support provided to victims and their families by the team and ensuring it complies with service standards.
• Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements and Victim Support’s National Standards and procedures.
• Providing advice and guidance to Victim Contact Officers during shifts.
• Making assessments and decisions on complex services or practice issues.
What you’ll need
• Experience of supervising people and/or processes.
• Proven ability in influencing others and improving efficiency and compliance.
• Ability to meet performance targets and solve complex problems.
• Willing to learning and develop exceptional management skills.
• An understanding of the impact of crime and the criminal justice system.
• Demonstrate empathy and control own emotions.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, including telephone skills.

We were set up over 40 years ago and have since grown to become the oldest and largest victims’ organisation in the world. Our work is co-ordinated from our National Support Centre in London, but we are very much a community organisation paving a way for people to do something positive about crime in their community.
