Grounds and Gardens Person

We are seeking an experienced Grounds and Gardens Person to join the Estates, Grounds and Gardens Team. Responsible to the Charge hand, you will be expected to provide an efficient and effective grounds maintenance service across the University's Campus.

You will have significant recent experience of working within a grounds maintenance environment and possess a working knowledge of plant species and current techniques used in horticulture. You will be qualified to a NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Horticulture and hold a PA1, PA2 and PA6 sprayer certificates and NPTC (National Proficiency Testing Test Council) Chainsaw certificate of competence. A full current valid driving licence allowing use of trailers is also essential in this role.

Working as part of a team, you will be flexible, with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be highly motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative. In order to fulfil the duties of this role, you may be required to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, University closed days and covering University Open days. Times of work will be agreed with your line manager to meet service requirements.

University Grade 4: £18,031 to £20,781 (per annum)
