One of the most reputable PR agencies in the UK is looking for a new PR Account Handler to join them in their Manchester office. The opportunity has arisen due to increasing client demand, strong writing skills are essential as well as a good understanding (and interest) in the markets they operate in. The agency manages clients from various sectors including; property, transport, energy, leisure/hotels, and retail. This PR agency particularly focuses on crisis management, public affairs, and corporate communications for their clients; therefore they work in a very face passed, reactive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive involvement with client handling
Regularly reading clients' journals, trade publications and mainstream media to keep up to speed with the clients industries
Understanding the media agenda and keeping up-to-date with the media landscape
Proactively spotting client opportunities in the media
Selling in stories/ideas to media and growing a network of contacts
Running the day-to-day social media for clients across platforms (including LinkedIn and Twitter)
Playing an active role in the PR industry, including building a knowledge base of key competitors and developing a network of peers
Evaluating results across all clients and working with account managers to produce thorough review documents
To be successful in this role you will experience working in PR; preferable agency side, or relevant in-house sector. Ability to work at a fast pace and manage multiple projects at once is essential. As the role is based in the Manchester city centre is easily commutable from all surrounding areas.
