Portal is seeking an IT Support Apprentice who will join our network services team based at our HQ office in Bracknell, Berks.

You will learn to:

Process internal tickets, escalating to the relevant teams, resolving issues around desktop and printing issues; toner replacement and ordering appropriate supplies; liaising with Finance for PO and gaining the appropriate approval.

Develop skills around Microsoft windows Client Server technologies, having exposure to Networking and Scripting.

Monitor internal ticket queues and be responsible for maintaining the calls and ensure timely closure times.

To gain understanding of the approach Portal use to support customers in-house and paying clients via the ITIL standards.

Implement changes highlighted by support to desktops and printers as required.

Resolve Service Requests and Incidents logged by internal customers.

Liaise with the Support Team leader to update on progress of work complete and ongoing weekly.

Communicate on a daily basis with internal customers and moving forward to supporting external customers via our call logging system.

Be responsible for the accurate tracking of internal equipment via our asset management database.

Available to answer phone calls from external people including customers.
- Become a valued and resourceful member of the Support Team, adopting a pro-active approach to the role and initial point of contact for internal queries.
Personal development
-
12-18 month Apprenticeship programme with Portal gaining experience supporting multiple customers and processes via the ITIL standards.
- Gain Certification/Accreditation in technologies which may include Microsoft, IBM, Networking and ITIL foundation.
Role requirements
Can you demonstrate excellent customer service skills, perhaps gained by work placements or part time roles through your years at school/college and a passion for IT? You will need to be a team player, as this is integral to the role. Qualifications required: A/GCSE/BTEC level - Grade C or above in minimum of 6 disciplines including English, Maths, ICT.

Full time role - 37.5 hour week (0900 - 1730): Key supervision by Heads of Support and Infrastructure, and Mentoring by all your Support colleagues
