Reception Teaching Job, September 2015 - March 2016

GBP111.81 - GBP165.06 per day (scale dependant)

I am currently working with a primary school in Stockport, Cheshire who are seeking a reception teacher to cover a maternity leave from the beginning of September to March 2016.

The school is larger than the average; most pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium is above the national average. The school was graded as a Good school by OFSTED earlier this year.

The early years unit is made up of a large nursery and 2 reception classes. In each class there are 24 pupils, and there is a full time TA in both. Working in a spilt class you have the benefit of working closely alongside another teacher, and all planning is shared.

The Head Teacher and governors are looking for a professional, friendly and hardworking teacher who is going to work hard to make a difference.

Applicants need to demonstrate:

  • The ability to inspire children

  • Outstanding teaching ability

  • An understanding of the EYFS/KS1 curriculum

  • Experience teaching in EYFS/KS1 settings

  • Very high expectations of children's attainment and behaviour in our school

  • Motivation and passion about pupil progress

  • Excellent communication skills

  • The ability to work positively with children, parents and other stakeholders

All applicants must be qualified teachers with UK QTS. And you must be available from September 2015 until March 2016.

The school require evidence of the quality of your teaching and the impact on children??s learning. This might be in relation to lesson observations, FSP scores, APS progress for the full class or group that you teach or in relation to performance management/appraisal, which I will go through at the interview stage with myself and then the school (if successful).

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

To apply for this job please email your CV or apply via this website. If you have any question or would like to find out more information please don??t hesitation to get in touch on and ask to speak to Katharine.
