Job description
Must of Assessed within the Health and Social Care sector and have your IV Award.Responsible to Quality Officer
Purpose of job
To be responsible for supporting and co-ordinating and contributing to internal and external quality assurance standards and processes, including the standardisation of approach to delivery, to ensure that it is consistent across the learner journey, assessment team and company.
Key duties Key Performance Indicators:
Ensuring all sector areas are self-sufficient and that all Internal Quality Assurance activity is completed within 5 days for final IV and for referred files that all resubmitted files are re-IV??d within 5 days. This role will also take responsibility for monitoring referred portfolio??s, to ensure they are resubmitted within 4 weeks of referral
All completed files booked in with IV within 5 working days
Learners at risk to be no higher than 5% for forum assessors
No more than 10% referral rate
All learners have interim IV??s conducted during their time on-programme, as a minimum within their first 12 weeks and then at the 2/3 stage of their overall programme
OOF Frameworks to be no greater than 15% and timely success to be at least 3% over the national average
100% successful External Quality Assurance visits ensuring all qualifications are approved for and Direct Claim Status (DCS) is maintained.
All OTLA requirements to be carried out within agreed timescales and action plans for staff implemented, supported and reviewed where necessary
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
To plan, organise and co-ordinate and to contribute to all internal qualification assurance within WBL, this includes but is not limited to, scheduling interim and final IV activity, conducting/completing IV activities, following up on action plans set by IV??s, liaise with business manager and Operation Managers to ensure priorities are in line with requirements .
To ensure that the receiving and filing of internal verification records are updated accurately onto YETI and that sampling is completed on a regular basis.
To order and manage any certificate issues as they occur.
Following up weekly and monthly on outstanding certificates, interim, final files for IV, outstanding registrations and learners at risk.
To oversee sampling strategies and plans and being accountable for ensuring they are prepared, monitored and adapted, where required, over all qualifications, to include the planning and actioning of interim internal quality assurance.
To plan, organise and co-ordinate standardisation meetings across all qualifications, liaising with Quality Assurance team and Operation Managers to ensure that these meetings are scheduled to meet the needs of the relevant sectors.
Ensure minutes from the meeting are completed and uploaded to Quality.
Ensure all actions are follow up on and that standardise assessment/delivery plans are available.
To project manage the implementation of OneFile and ensure activity is co-ordinated effectively.
To ensure all learners on OneFile have timesheets, activity logged monthly
Have a caseload of 5 learners on OneFile at all times.
Be overall responsible for assessor induction process
Implement, organise and conduct assessor under-performance forums, contributing to the reduction in learners at risk by 50%
Implement and co-ordinate a timeliness IV booking in procedure
To lead on the development and updating of support materials and resources for all qualifications, to include regular review of all Awarding Body workbooks/updates to ensure standards are maintained.
To plan, organise and arrange the assessment observations of sector delivery to meet Awarding Body requirements.
To support and carry out Observation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) throughout the learner journey. Ensuring full support is provided to any required actions via robust action plans
To ensure all External Quality Assurance visits are planned and prepared for, providing feedback to the Operation Managers once completed. To act as the main point of contact for the EQA ensuring that feedback is provided to the appropriate staff members.
To ensure that YETI has been completed to reflect the current position of IQA.
To analyse weekly/monthly reports relating to the entire IQA process and identify any concerns to the quality team.
To provide internal quality assurance training to all members of staff as required, encouraging participation from all members of staff to increase the number of IQA??s company wide, including carrying out the accredited training leading to the TAQA standards.
To provide advice and guidance to all (IQA??s) on best practice and ensure that CPD logs are completed to reflect this.
To provide support to assessor caseloads and trouble shoot where required.
Implement, review and evaluate policies and procedures linked to Awarding Bodies and delivery requirements. E.g. Marking Policy, IQA policy.
To undertake any other duties deemed necessary by the management team.

Qualifications required
TAQA qualified.
Occupational specific qualifications
Minimum of 6 months internal verification experience, within specialist subject area(s).
IT literate.
Used to working to tight deadlines.
Numerate and literate.
Take responsibility and be accountable for the quality and effectiveness of the assessment/internal verification process.
Ability to produce and manage action plans to raise quality standards
Ability to prioritise workloads and negotiate.
Ability to influence and negotiate.
Ability to use initiative and be flexible in approach.
Contribute and work well as part of a team.
Follow procedures and adhere to deadlines.
