I am currently working with an Federation of two SEN schools that on one site cater for students with Profound and Severe Learning Difficulties, mixed, aged 4-19 and has 142 pupils on roll.

The second site caters for students with Moderate & Complex Learning Difficulties, mixed, aged 5-19, and has 201 pupils currently on roll.

The school are looking for an enthusiastic teacher of music to work across both schools for the year 2015-16 before we move into the one building in September 2016. The successful candidate will deliver music lessons to pupils with a variety of needs and difficulties, ranging in age from 4 - 19 years. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will spend two days per week at the first site and three days per week at the second site teaching music and RE.

Candidates will preferably have a proven record of good classroom teaching and curriculum innovation in a special or mainstream school. This post would suit a Primary or Secondary teacher with a specialism in music. However, applications from NQTs with a commitment to working with pupils with Specials Needs will also be considered.

Effective classroom practice and an overriding commitment to pupil progress will be essential attributes and a commitment to meeting a wide range of pupil needs. Teaching that encompasses different learning styles through differentiation, personalisation and active engagement, will also be key aspects of the successful candidate??s practice.
