As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the planning aspects of the transport operation. This challenging role will incorporate the day to day running of the transport system, monitoring the progress of drivers and offering them support in order to achieve business goals and deliveries.

Some of the duties involved:

- Liaise with customers to ensure collection and delivery bookings are achievable.
- Input collection and delivery data into company computer system in an accurate and efficient manner
- Allocate appropriate drivers, vehicles and trailers to individual jobs in an efficient manner to meet the customers' requirements while maintaining focus on minimizing costs.
- Regularly monitor progress of each driver to ensure the timely and efficient collection and delivery of the loads.
- Continually update customer/customer services of changes and delays
- Liaise with the workshop to ensure defected, service and MOT equipment available as agreed and kept in a safe and legal condition.
- Answer telephone calls in a quick and polite manner.
- Report any complaints of any type to the Operations Manager.
- Manage stock levels of sundry equipment.
- Perform regular audits of loading procedure and equipment condition.

Job Requirements:

- Experience in a busy office environment
- Experience in Traffic Operations environment
- Good general working knowledge of IT systems
- Must be able to adhere to a flexible working plan
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on the quality of your work
