Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Avionics - Control Systems - Kent

It isn't every day that a Senior Software Engineer gets to help define an entirely new, disruptive technology for a major business sector; well this time you can.

An excellent, highly unusual opportunity for a very capable Real-time Embedded Software Engineer to be in right at the start and join a small, well funded start-up company who are developing a revolutionary new Aircraft for the commercial Aviation market using their patented aircraft and electric tiltable engine technologies. Everything about this aircraft is unique - Engine / Propulsion technology, Power Management, control systems, everything.

You will be the second software developer in the team and will be responsible for designing and developing software to program and control the entire electric power system. This role is a pivotal role within the company and will be responsible for the definition, design and implementation of the core technology of the project.

As a minimum requirement, the successful Embedded Software Engineer will have 10+ years experience in the following -

*Embedded real time C software development
*Experience with ARM or Cortex based processors
*Interfacing with peripheral devices including SPI and I2C devices
*Good understanding of electronics, and an ability to understand schematic diagrams
*Willingness to take a hands on approach in all areas

And it is also highly likely that the successful Embedded Software Engineer will also have real world experience with some of the following -

*Experience using any of the following devices - gyroscopes, accelerometers, GPS
*Strong mathematical skills, with some knowledge of filters
*Experience working with control systems
*Use of digital communications protocols
*Exposure to avionics/aviation system development
*An ability to solve problems independently, as well as collaborate in a team
