The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is the UK’s leading gardening charity, dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening. 

The RHS is looking for exceptional Facilities Electricians to manage the Facilities services at the Society’s Wisley and London Victoria premises. The successful candidates will have extensive experience, drive, enthusiasm and a high level of attention to detail. They will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure services and equipment is maintained and repaired to a safe and high standard in compliance with all statutory and legal requirements and within any applicable budgetary restraints.

Whilst the role is based at RHS Garden Wisley site in Woking, Surrey, there will be occasions where there will be the need to assist and work at the Society’s head office located in Vincent Square, Victoria, London.

This is a very much customer facing and hands on role. It reports to the Facility Manager at RHS Garden Wisley with a dotted line to the Head of RHS Facilities. It will ensure strong links with all customers and stakeholders, at all times guaranteeing high levels of excellent customer service, proactive and responsive reactions.

Some of the key functions include:
•    Legislative testing and certification – Minor works etc.
•    Portable Appliance Testing.
•    Fault finding and repairs on various installations.
•    Emergency lighting testing/remedial works.
•    Industrial & Domestic installations.
•    Assisting with events build up & break down.
•    Emergency call outs on a rota basis.

You will be tasked with implementing comprehensive Facilities Electrical procedures consistently throughout the site to minimise risk and to deliver exceptional facilities and customer service to all internal and external customers. Ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice for all policies and procedures will top of the list of priorities at all times.


 The successful candidate will:
•    Hold a recognised up to date qualification in Electrical Installation, Testing and Inspection and be qualified up to the 17th edition of BS7671. Please note that this is essential for the post.
•    Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
•    Have a flexible and proactive approach with the resilience and motivation to seek continual improvement on systems and standards.
•    Have outstanding interpersonal skills.
•    Have a strong focus on providing excellent customer service and a ‘will do’ approach.
•    Have demonstrable experience in a Facilities environment.
