Business Studies Teacher in England

Uteach offers an exciting opportunity for a Business Studies Teacher in an Academy Secondary School located in Berkshire. This position is for a September 2015 start date and although is classed as a one year contract with the possibility of it becoming a permanent post.

The school achieved Academy status in 2012 and currently caters for approximately 850 students aged between 11 and 19 years. Ofsted have rated the school as an overall Grade 3 with Behaviour and Leadership within the school being reported as Good. Achievement of pupils within the school is high and improving across all subjects, particularly at Key Stage 4.

Leaders within the school have made it their mission to improve the quality of teaching by providing effective checks and appropriate training and Ofsted have stated that teachers subject knowledge is strong. Students behave well in their classes and around the school showing continued courtesy and respect to staff, visitors and other peers. They have positive attitudes towards their education and this shows in their improving grades.

The leadership and Head Teacher have high ambitions for the school and their decisive actions have led to clear improvements in the recent months. Ever since their progression to Academy status they have looked to further develop opportunities to allow their students to reach new heights. There are extensive facilities throughout the school including Astro-Turf playing fields, conference rooms, a well-equipped sports hall and gym. The school is located in an affluent town just 44 minutes by train from London City Centre with good transportation links. London Heathrow Airport is also under a 30 minute car journey from the school. To be eligible to apply for this position you are required to be a qualified or newly qualified teacher.
