WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPER

PERMANENT - SOMERSET

Our Client, an innovative web design and branding company with many years experience, is seeking a permanent, Full time Back End Web Designer/Developer who can create customer-focused applications alongside its' existing team, based in its' Somerset office to start ASAP or in 3 or 4 weeks' time.

Some previous experience, say 2 years, but technical and general ability important rather than qualifications - could be self-taught.

Role & Scope of Job:

• To create customer-focused applications alongside client's existing, friendly team
• Developing primary Back End CRM systems, development of websites and integration processes
• The ideal candidate will be able discuss and understand a client's needs and be able to execute their wishes by developing solutions around existing frameworks

Skills and Experience in Web Design required:

• Good knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Javascript (and child languages), HTML and CSS.
• Ability to learn new skills and experiment with technologies
• Good communication skills: face-to-face, telephone and email
• Versatile, quick learner

Desired:

• Able to develop additional functionality for existing applications, specifically WordPress and OpenCart
• Linux server administration experience
• Knowledge of PHP frameworks, such as Symfony, Codeigniter, etc.
• Experience in dealing with XML and CSV data
• Experience in using version control systems, such as Git
• Knowledge of Node.js applications, such as Grunt.js
• Understanding of UI across devices (responsive webdesign)

Salary & Benefits:

• Generous Salary and package up to approximately GBP30,000 pa, dependent on experience
• 6 weeks' holiday including Bank Holidays
