CE Compliance Engineer - Contract - Dorset - Great Rates!

Our Client, a large aerospace engineering organisation, are looking for a CE Compliance to be based in Dorset.

The individual will support small, medium and high complexity test rigs, jigs and fixtures. These items can include various functions involving fuel, hydraulic, motion, force, electrical power and other sub-systems. The successful candidate will take responsibility for ensuring compliance to various legislation required for these items. This will include requirements such as PUWER, LOLAR and CE Compliance.

Core duties:

  • It is a legal requirement that all equipment used by the client is marked with the CE Conformity stamp.
  • Many items that the client have purchased (eg Test Rigs) do not have this CE stamp and as such this approval must be gained.
  • Providing training and increased awareness of CE compliance within the business.
  • Ensure new equipment will meet all legislative requirements as part of the procurement process.
  • Review existing equipment to ensure it meets legislative requirements and manage all related tasks to meet that objective.
  • Perform conformity assessments of new and existing equipment.
  • Establish technical files for test equipment as required by legislation.
  • Manage testing as required to demonstrate compliance to relevant directives.
  • Support the issue of EC declaration of conformity for each item.
  • Manage the CE marking process of equipment whether that be internally owned or from suppliers.

Essential experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a CE related role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft office.

Background experience:

Aerospace, Defence, Rail and Automotive (preferred), although any manufacturing experience is acceptable.

You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract. However, you will be able to start on 'Reference Only' (two years of employment references and one personal reference).
