Customer Service Apprentice - Romsey

12 MONTH APPRENTICESHIP: £3.50 Per Hour

This Customer Service Apprenticeship is based at our Romsey branch but may suit relevant candidates living in any nearby locations.

Established in 1842 and still family owned today, Elliotts are Hampshire's leading Independent Builders Merchant with 12 branches strategically located across the county including Elliotts Premier Roofing &, Elliotts Insulation & Drylining, in Southampton and Elliotts Tool Centres in Fareham, Portsmouth, Totton & Winchester.

Due to our continued success we are now looking for a Customer Service Apprentice to join us at our Romsey branch on a 12 month apprenticeship program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working with the sales team, serving trade and retail customers on the counter, and over the phone (negotiating prices after training), offering exceptional service to our customers

• Actively learn about products, in order to be able to advise customers on various materials

• Ensuring the shop is tidy, stocked and merchandised in order to maximize sales

• Learning about all areas of the branch which support the whole operation from start to finish

Requirements:

• An interest in building materials or the construction industry

• Previous experience in a customer facing role would be an advantage

• Ability to work within a team

• Excellent communication skills - face to face and over the telephone in order to communicate professionally with our customers

• Sound IT skills (ability to use Microsoft Office)

Training:

• Training will be delivered via a combination of "on the job" (with regular visits from the training provider) and internal (via completion of online product knowledge modules in our e-academy) and supplier training
• The apprenticeship is expected to last 12 months

Working Hours:

• 40 hours per week, 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday
