Description: About the role Reporting into the Production Manager, the Blow Moulding Team Leader is responsible for leading teams of manufacturing and packaging operatives in a high speed household manufacturing environment running continuous packing and production lines, manufacturing and packing high quality products, packaged and prepared for delivery in accordance with customer service requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring the provision of a safe working manufacturing environment (where protective clothing, quality, health, safety and hygiene procedures are followed) through the provision of coaching, and leading improvement\culture change as well as ensuring their area consistently delivers against factory KPIs. The expectation on the Derby site is that the Blow Moulding Team Leader develops broad based people management, process and plant skills and knowledge across the whole of the Derby site and is able to move between and operate in all the different areas (eg Liquids, Aerosols, Blow Moulding). The Blow Moulding Team Leader may from time to time take on the role of Duty Manager for the site and needs to have: overall site knowledge; robust knowledge of the escalation process and the reporting process. The Blow Moulding Team Leader will act as deputy for the Production Manager for their own area The role is focussed on ensuring that teams are able to manufacture, fill\pack product in line with targets set for quality, cost and service. A key aspect of this role is to develop a more empowered team, by training, coaching and development of individuals through strong leadership Key Responsibilities Plant and Equipment Performance and Operating Efficiencies: • Review OEE results on a daily basis with direct and support teams and agree main issues and improvement plans for following week • Delivery of KPIs • Ensure KPI scorecards are kept up to date on a weekly basis by team members and are reviewed on a weekly basis with the whole team • Report an accumulated view of all scorecards and other KPIs on a weekly basis to the Production Manager and Operations Manager Develop area improvement plans based on the KPI performance; Identify and deliver improvements across the defined areas in a planned and prioritised fashion Quality and Housekeeping: • Manage internal Quality systems • Ensure adherence to internal Quality standards • NCR process: responsible for raising NCRs and closing off actions • Ensure teams maintain all GMP standards and ensure standards are adhered to • Ensure all SOPs are followed and, if not, corrective actions are identified and action taken; issues around non conformance to be escalated as appropriate People Management: • Ensure sufficient flexibility both within work teams and between groups by identifying training issues with team members and taking the subsequent steps to ensure the training is enacted • Complete performance reviews in line with the PDR and 1-2-1 process for Operations employees • Ensure any issues or training and development opportunities are communicated to the Production Manager and action plans put in place to address • Maintain and manage the annualised hours system (Crown) on a daily basis • Review costs on a weekly basis - temporary resource, recruitment and overtime • Ensure team rosters are owned by local teams and are aligned with 1 week firm-fence planning window • Ensure a robust and consistent on-boarding programme is delivered to all new joins and manage the ongoing probationary process in a timely and effective way • Proactively manage all absence issues, at work and where appropriate out of work, including sickness (return to work interviews and meetings), holiday, and other absences (due to personal reasons) • Ensure a robust communication plan is put in place in own area to include team briefings and communication of key messages is carried out in the most appropriate way for the message • Ensure a robust, fair and consistent reward and recognition scheme is in place in own area and successes are celebrated and communicated in the most appropriate way Health and Safety: • Manage internal safety systems • Ensure adherence to factory safety standards • Ensure near miss forms are generated and reviewed\actioned • Ensure all accidents\product security failures are reported to the Production Manager or other Operations and Site management for investigation • Ensure there is proper First Aid cover for own area Qualifications: Qualifications • Graduate calibre or equivalent with broad proven experience of Manufacturing Operations management in a relevant industry, ideally FMCG • Proven experience in a relevant technical discipline, i.e. Engineering\Scientific • Strong communication and influencing skills • Strong interpersonal and mentoring\coaching skills • People management experience • Ability to motivate and inspire a team • Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving • Systems knowledge in a manufacturing environment- managing and application of systems (eg Crown) • Health and Safety qualification - preferably IOSSH In line with RB core values you will be career-focused with strong desire to take on additional responsibilities and achievement focussed and able to work in a direct and often tough environment In return RB will offer a very competitive salary and benefits package as well as continued development and career progression on a Global scale.
