Description:
Graduates at Amadeus (Heathrow) are provided with a range of learning and development opportunities. The work is varied and follows the full 'development life cycle' - from producing code to writing software documentaion. From day one, our Graduates are working on projects where they will be expected to help solve problem and provide solutions within their technical field. They work in an exciting environment alongside experienced collegues who will share their knoweldge.
Graduate salaries are circa GBP33k plus a range of benefits.
We are looking for graduates with a strong academic record with a minimum of a 2.1 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics or Maths. We also look for applicants who have some IT experience or have completed an IT internship.
Details of the Software Development Engineer Java position is as follows:
Purpose of Job:
* Working on projects or modules of projects, codes and debugs new software products.
* Has responsibility for delivery of specified tasks.
* Undergoes intensive training both on the job and in classroom.
Planning:
* Regularly reports progress to the supervisor on assigned work.
* Records time accurately
Delivery:
Technical Function
* Develops skills in fundamental technical theories, procedures and practices and the ability to apply them in their immediate technical skill area.
* Uses existing, clearly defined procedures to solve routine problems.
* Produces code, problem investigations, support or testing within timescales and standards defined by Team Leader or Project Leader.
* Writes operational and software documentation necessary for the application.
* Start building an understanding of the system architecture to put work into context and build the big picture of the system, within the horizons of Amadeus.
* Able to solve or propose fundamental and complex IT solutions within their immediate technical field.
Business Knowledge
* Builds an understanding of the relationships between work processes and the business.
Procedural Knowledge
* Gains an appreciation of the standards of work required, project life cycle and Amadeus methodologies.
Working with Others
* Works cooperatively with others to achieve team goals.
* Builds stable and useful working relationships.
Skills Development
* Attends and achieves required standards in classroom training.
* Achieves agreed development milestones with regard to on the job training.
* Asks questions, checks for understanding and provides clear and precise explanations.
Communication:
* Ability to communicate on all levels, clearly and fluently
