My client is a market leading veterinary software company, established for over 23 years they specialise in the development and supply of veterinary management systems in the UK.
The role:
You will be responsible for providing technical support for the production database environment, including overseeing the organisation of the databases, It is extremely important to the company that on-line processing database systems offer the highest reliability and performance possible. The DBA is expected to train and develop technical support and applications staff and provide automated processes to better manage the production database environments.
The DBA will be involved in database migration work, involving the writing of SQL scripts, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary. They will provide technical support during the implementation of applications and work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies to aid the smooth running of the production database environment.
