The company have a highly expert IT Services team, who are responsible for designing, building and supporting the IT infrastructure in their very demanding environment. They are looking to recruit a Graduate IT Infrastructure Engineer, reporting to the IT Services manager, to join this team. After an initial ramp-up and training period, the successful candidate will take on responsibility for our VMware virtualization environment.

Key Responsibilities:

This full time role that will be based at the company's Enfield office. Your first few months will mostly be spent training on the various IT systems we support at the company, through both briefings and more hands-on practical activities, along with more focused training on the company's VMware virtualization environment. In time, you'll be expected to take full responsibility for this environment, with duties including:

• Designing, implementing and documenting virtualization solutions based on the vSphere stack to meet business requirements
• Monitoring and managing our virtualization infrastructure to maintain a quality service
• Acting as technical support lead for virtualization escalations from our Helpdesk
• Working alongside other members of the team to help maintain our extensive IT infrastructure.

Qualifications / Experience:

In order to be considered, the company need someone who has:

• Good A-levels and is educated to degree level, ideally within a Computer Science or Engineering discipline
• A strong interest in IT, ideally with experience of virtualization products and technologies
• Excellent time and project management skills
• The ability to take on ownership of a project and work well on own initiative
• Strong communication skills

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who already has some first- or second-line IT support experience and is looking to move up to a third-line technical support and technical solutions architect role.
