Graduate Software Engineer

Full Time - Permanent - Graduate - Software Engineer - Salary negotiable

My client currently requires a graduate with an ability and knowledge of application of the software engineering principles and practices and some knowledge of systems engineering and test/integration and validation discipline's would be a great advantage.

The graduate software engineer will work in a team following best practices to resolve problems and meet sprint milestones. As this is a graduate position your work will be reviewed for soundness of technical judgement and you will be monitored & trained by senior members of staff.

Required Skills:

. Knowledge of one or more of the following software development languages or technologies: Python, Apache Storm, Mule ESB, RabbitMQ, HTML5, CSS3, .NET, OpenStack, AngularJS, LDAP Security, Oracle DB, Mongo DB & Java.
. Enthusiastic self-starter with good verbal communication
. Excellent written communication through the use of e-mail, presentations and reports
. Experience of Linux OS and Scripting
. Software and hardware systems integration
. Ability to work with due attention to schedule and cost constraints
. Adherence to process within a software development environment
. Ability to work as part of a software development team

Desired Skills:

* ATM knowledge would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite
* Understanding of the principles of systems engineering, and integration and test
* Experience of Agile development
* Software development within a Real Time and/or safety-related system
* Experience of systems/software design tools (eg Enterprise Architect).
* Knowledge of configuration management systems within an engineering environment (eg Subversion, Git)
