Position Overview >

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our SOC team as a Senior Security Analyst.

As a Senior Security Analyst you will be responsible to deliver security, monitoring and alerting services as part of a team located on customer site.

As Senior Security Analyst - SOC your skills and experience will include:

  • Proven customer service experience in a similar support role, ideally within the IT Security industry

  • Proven operational team leadership experience

  • Experience in supporting critical/high priority incident management and handling processes

  • Very good communication skills combined with professional telephone manner

  • TCP/IP Networking skills

  • Knowledge of security technologies and experience of security technologies, including: LogRhythm, RSA (Archer), Qualys, Juniper, Sourcefire, F5, Symantec, Fortinet

  • Experience in the use of Intrusion Detection systems, management, response to, and tuning of, alerts

  • Experience in the use of SIEM platforms

  • Experience of working in environments subject to compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, FSA (UK), SOX and Euro-SOX, ISO27000 Series

  • Good working knowledge of Unix (Solaris, Linux, BSD) and Windows

As a Senior Security Analyst - SOC your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the integrity of client IT infrastructures

  • Protect the information systems from external and internal attack/compromise

  • Act as the person responsible for the day to day operational management of the SOC and the team

  • Liaise with the SOC manager and Service Delivery Manager on operational issues and escalations

  • Deliver security monitoring and alerting services, assisting with investigations as a result of escalated problems and security alerts from security information & event management systems (SIEM)

  • Provide coaching and mentoring for security analysts on technologies as required

  • Take responsibility as a senior analyst to pick up more difficult incidents or changes

  • Work with the service delivery manager and team leader to assist in the development of service SLA/KPI monitoring and reporting.

  • Provide advice and guidance to client teams around threats, vulnerabilities and security changes

  • Understand and articulate emerging threats and incidents to different audiences within the client, including technical, operations management, senior management and execs.
