Healthcare Assistants

The Hospice is looking for Healthcare Assistants to work within the expanding Hospice at Home day and night support services.

The Hospice is committed to providing quality palliative and end of life care to people with incurable conditions and frailty and providing support to their families.

In order to respond to the healthcare needs of the local population, care is available 24/7 and we currently have vacancies available within both the day and night support teams.

Based at the main Hospice site in Wolverhampton, the team comprises 13 Health Care Assistants, 3 Senior Health Care Assistants, one H@H Service Coordinator and is managed by a Lead Specialist Nurse.

These posts will involve working in the community, providing personal care and emotional support to patients and their families in their home environment, either as a lone worker or part of a team.

You will be an experienced carer, with a minimum of an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care and ideally have experience of working in people’s own homes. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a range of health professionals and informal carers.

The service encompasses a wide area, predominantly across Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire. and therefore you must be a car owner/driver.

Vacancies available:

Night service team: Maximum 30 hours per week, Shift pattern is 22.00-08.00, Monday to Sunday. Hourly rate: £6.90 to £9.39 per hour (dependent upon experience). Enchancements and fuel allowance paid.

Day service: Full and part time, shiftwork (Early 07.30-15.30, Late 13.30-21.30), Monday to Sunday. Hourly rate: £6.58 to £8.44 per hour (dependent upon experience). Enchancements and fuel allowance paid.
