The role of Cross Channel Architect will be a key position within the Group Technology, Strategy and Operations, Consumer IT Delivery team in Newbury and London (UK).

The Channels Domain Centre of Excellence is responsible for defining, governing and driving the adoption of technical strategies, roadmap and standards for Vodafone Group and Local Markets. Through technical leadership the Center of Excellence aims to reduce the Vodafone (Group/Local Market) Total Cost of Ownership whilst delivering a step change in Customer Experience/Efficiency/Effectiveness.

The main purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership for Cross and Omni channel technical realisation. Be the custodian of the Omni channel technical vision and the transitional paths that can be followed to maximise success.
  • Engaging directly with channels domain architects (Digital, Customer Operations, Retail, Terminals) and wider IT supporting domains ensure target architects and roadmaps consider and align to Omni channel objectives. Through this engagement pin point and deliver Omni channel design patterns and guidelines to assist market maturity and acceleration.
  • Providing thought leadership for the use of technology within the channels domain. Ensuring Vodafone is maximising the use of technology to drive business gain. Participating in discussion with commercial units to understand where technology can support the business initiative of Omni Channel.
  • Capturing the Cross, Omni Channel intellectual property within the Channels Sparcs Enterprise Architect repository. Enabling local market and Group partner reference.
  • Supporting the wider Enterprise Architecture transition through ensuring all cross, Omni channel views align to the Group reference model, and where required the reference model is updated in alignment with Channels views and needs.
  • Participating in the Channels Design Authority ensuring representation of Omni channel views and targets. Providing design authority services to ensure designs submitted for approval reach the required relevancy and quality.
  • Owning the continual develop the Global Channels Non Functional Requirements set, ensuring they meet performance, stability, scalability, security, regulation or legislative requirements to ensure increased delivery and operational success within the Retail Domain.
  • Provide market consultancy and subject matter expertise for Group Omni Channel solution offerings and wider industry solution options. Supporting local market transformation and or advancement through effective placement of Group technical intellectual property

As Cross Channel Architect your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Clear leadership over channels technologies and IT solutions deployed to meet Vodafone's Cross, Omni channels objectives.
  • Defining Cross, Omni Channel technology futures in alignment with commercial strategies.
  • Engaging with local markets to provide subject matter expertise to drive advancement of business benefit
  • Operating across a virtual team of architects ensuring Cross, Omni Channel objectives and requirements are considered.
  • Providing clear proactive design authority services to ensure deliveries in flight are governed and directed appropriately in later stages of design and delivery. Maximising reusable services and features that can support Cross, Omni Channel Objectives.

As Cross Channel Architect your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Proven Knowledge of channels supporting technologies and industry cross, omni channel use cases
  • Wider multi-channel knowledge of interfacing technologies supporting operations
  • Business engagement/stakeholder management
  • Excellent Written & communication skills
  • Self starter, driven by results
  • Channels architecture design experience working within or across Retail, Contact Center Operations & Digital domains
  • Experience of core channels domain technologies eg Portals, POS, IVR systems
  • Proven track record of supporting solution design teams providing cross,omni channel technical requirements into programmes of work.
  • TOGAF Knowledge/Certified
