Our client is looking to take on a Product Technologist to join their busy team in Altrincham. 

The role of Product Technologist combines the responsibilities of a fabric and garment technologist, giving increased control of the overall product and the capability to improve quality levels within the company. The role covers all aspects of product development and quality control from initial fabric and first factory sample stage, to the final shipment of an order, continually striving to improve product quality whilst maintaining critical path dates.

The responsibilities of the role will include; 

  • Involvement in the garment sealing process, from initial development sample to final shipment.
  • Communicating on a daily basis with customers, and international factories, providing suggestions and instructions using the most appropriate approach to actively benefit the garment quality and performance.
  • Setting up initial garment size specifications and workbooks from initial proto samples and applying customer grade rules.
  • Updating and maintaining Company and Customer workbooks from confirmation of a development sample to shipment of production.
  • Attending customer fit meetings on a regular basis
  • Reviewing Customer fit comments to ensure all comments and amendments are clear.
  • Compiling comprehensive comments for factories, using size specifications, highly detailed CAD diagrams and photographs to ensure full understanding of the amendments required.
  • Liaison with internal Pattern Technicians on pattern related queries
  • Assessing Sealing, Pre Production & Shipment samples for quality of make, measurements and ensuring that any previous customer and amendments have been implemented in an acceptable production manner.
  • Checking Pre Production & Shipment samples against specified fabric, trims & labelling & packaging in the company style file.
  • Involved in product AQL and ethical audits, along with the review and rectification of non compliances within audit reports.
  • Working with the factories to resolve any queries / issues. Offering further details in the form of CAD diagrams / photographs when required.
  • Responsible for the management of garment assessment tests after cleansing.
  • Responsible for the testing and review of all prints and embroideries. To determine suitability and resistance to cleansing.
  • Factory compliance awareness preferred.
