Fixed Wire Inspector

A Fixed Wire Inspector is required to join a leading specialist in on site testing for the automotive industry.

This role involves the testing of fixed wiring to BS7671 standards. You will be working as part of a team and expected to carry out full testing of the site and to keep comprehensive notes to be transferred to a computerised certification report. You can expect to be testing offices, car showrooms and workshops.

This position requires an understanding of Emergency Lights and Fire Alarm systems as well as Portable Appliance Risk Assessment. Full training can be given in these areas.

Documentation is imperative to this position. Full training and guidance will be provided for imputing test results onto the software to generate the reports - at present they use Amtech software.

At the end of each week the job sheets will need to be handed in to the admin team with an order number. The reports will need to be signed off by the supervisor and administrated before being sent to the customer. Each week new job sheets will be prepared in advance for the following weeks work. This role requires the correct adherence to company systems and policies all of which will be explained during induction.

Their customers are all over the UK and therefore the position requires travelling the length and breadth of Britain and being away from home overnight. Generally you can expect to be away from home for 3 - 4 nights. (For example Mon - Thu) You will always be home for Friday night and no work is carried out over the weekend. Accommodation is booked in advance for you and a meal allowance is given. A company van is provided and fully kitted out for the purposes of testing. Working hours are generally between 8am and 6pm with a working week of 37 - 40 hours.

It is imperative that you hold a full driving licence with no more than three points on it. It is also important to give some thought to whether you will be happy travelling and being away overnight, especially where family is concerned.
