Web Application Developer

We are a specialist consulting and software company based in central Cambridge looking to expand and strengthen our development team.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Web Application Developer to join our team and help further develop and expand an established and sophisticated web based business application.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing high performance and scalable enterprise web applications in an agile development team. The role requires an excellent practical knowledge of PHP and the Zend framework, and at least one JavaScript application framework, ideally ExtJS. Exposure to the following disciplines will be valuable: Ajax, OOP JavaScript, CSS and any testing framework.

Essential

- At least five years industry experience of commercial web application development processes using relevant technologies
- A good understanding of object oriented programming and design patterns
- An ability to rapidly and effectively understand and translate client business requirements into technical solutions.
- Evidence of ability to create reusable and efficient solutions.
- Great teamwork and energy

Desirable

- Good understanding of web application security.
- Good understanding of testing and use of test environments
- Experience of working with code repositories (e.g. GIT) and bug tracking tools (e.g. YouTrack or Jira)
- Knowledge of user experience design
- Knowledge of software architecture principles.
