Peer Support Group Facilitator
Location: Cheshire East
Salary: £8525.72 actual per annum - FTE £18,650
Hours: 16 per week
Contract type: Fixed Term for 6 Months (Maternity Cover)

Leading the fight against dementia takes many forms. In addition to funding research and raising public awareness, for example, our client runs some of the most effective local support services in the country. They offer regular support services in a safe and secure environment.

Their Peer Support groups are facilitated for people with dementia. People come together to receive emotional support and information in a safe setting. People with dementia or their carers can ask questions, receive information, express themselves and share their perceptions of living with dementia.

As the Support Group Facilitator you will ensure the sessions are well organised and arrangements are communicated to members. A large part of the role involves maximising the beneficial impact of the groups by putting the members at ease and helping them to understand the purpose of the group, allowing them to fully engage in the sessions. The role will also involve coordination of service related volunteers and liaising with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations in the area.

To be successful in this role you will need NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) along with excellent organisation and group facilitation skills. An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers will be very useful in this role. Add to that your empathy and excellent communication skills and you will quickly establish yourself as a vital member of our team.

If you have the qualities they're looking for, and are passionate about improving the quality of life for people with dementia, then they want to hear from you.

Our client is committed to equal opportunities.
