Sovereign is one of the largest housing associations in the country. We own and manage more than 37,000 homes for 86,000 residents across the south and south west of England and oversee one of the largest development programmes in the affordable housing sector.

What we offer, however, is more than bricks and mortar. We provide a range of homes people can truly afford, with value added services, to help our residents achieve their aspirations.

We are a strong and effective organisation, combining our social ethos with a commercial approach and our talented people work together to make a real difference to people's lives.

We currently require a part time Older Persons Housing Officer to join the team in our Newbury office. The focus of this role is to provide a first class housing management service to the residents of designated older person housing in the Berkshire region.

Working closely with Supported Housing colleagues, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring positive communities and customer satisfaction. You will conduct tenancy sign ups, tenancy audit visits, settle in visits, refer residents for tenancy support, conduct estate walkabouts and identify and address estate improvement works. You will also address issues such as nuisance and breaches of tenancy so will ideally have a proven track record of dealing with anti-social behaviour and proactively work with our residents, colleagues and partners to improve our services.

To succeed in this role candidates must be self-motivated, highly organised and demonstrate a high level of empathy, tenacity and confidence when addressing a variety of issues and working with residents, colleagues and a wide range of partners.

As well as having solid experience of social housing management, a strong understanding of the specific needs and requirements of older people and experience of delivering relevant associated services are required. Experience of providing tenancy support and working in partnership with external agencies are also required as are excellent communication, customer service and case management skills. You will need to demonstrate initiative, creativity, resilience and flexibility as well as commitment to ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

If you are looking for a rewarding career in a positive team and sector leading organisation then this could be the opportunity for you.

Please note this is a part time role working 18.5 hours per week on a job share basis.

Due to the travel requirements of the role a full driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.
