Sovereign is one of the largest housing associations in the country. We own and manage more than 37,000 homes for 86,000 residents across the south and south west of England and oversee one of the largest development programmes in the affordable housing sector.
What we offer, however, is more than bricks and mortar. We provide a range of homes people can truly afford, with value added services, to help our residents achieve their aspirations.
We are a strong and effective organisation, combining our social ethos with a commercial approach and our talented people work together to make a real difference to people's lives.
We are currently looking for a Trainee Housing Officer to provide an effective support to a flexible housing management service (independently or supporting housing officers in the team), which can include supporting estate management, sign up of new tenancies, tenancy support and management, nuisance and anti social behaviour, assistance with rent arrears and service charge management aswell as resident involvement.
We know how important it is for our people to have the right skills and tools for the job, so if you join us as a trainee we'll help you develop and support your aspirations so you can move forward in your career.
You will be committed to learning and progressing every day. While you're learning, you'll earn a good salary and receive great benefits. As well as your formal training, we'll also set aside time in the working week for your personal study. Plus, you'll have a manager who takes the time to get to know you and support you.
Strong problem solving skills are required, turning ideas into practical solutions as well as a commitment to team working with a real drive to deliver the best service possible along with a desire to overcome difficult issues.
Friendly with the enthusiasm to really make a difference and an approachable style, you will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Candidates will have GCSEs in English and Math grade C or above (or equivalent), be IT literate and familiar with MS Word & Excel, you will possess a keen interest in developing a successful career and a willingness to progress through an NVQ qualification programme
We are looking for talented people who can help support our success in the future. If you want to work for a company that's going places, and think you have what it takes to help us succeed we would love to hear from you.
