A teacher of Design and Technology is required for September 2015 in a specialist sports school based in Hampshire. This is a temporary position but it does have the potential to evolve into a permanent post. The successful candidate must have experience in teaching Food Technology and Metalwork.
The school caters for approximately 650 students aged 11 to 16 years. Pupils are very well behaved in the classroom and have been described as courteous and helpful. They display mature attitudes and positivity towards learning and changes to improve their education. There are strong and positive relationships between students and teachers and this is evident in the good progress that the pupils make in their subjects. The headteacher has created a team of enthusiastic and highly motivated staff and her work is praised highly by all. A new leadership team has recently been put in place to make changes and improve overall teaching and attainment of pupils. So far, significant developments have been made and this has been recognised by Ofsted, parents and staff. There is a strong ethos within the school to strive to be "the best you can be" and over the past three years, the school have achieved their aims and are on the ladder to complete success across the board.
Based in Hampshire in the South of England, the school is situated in stunning English countryside with good public transportation links. London City Centre can be reached within 90 minutes by train and London Heathrow Airport is only a 35 minute drive from the town.
