Unified Communications Consultant - IT Managed Service Provider

GBP65K - GBP70K + Bonus + Car Allowance - Home Based

My client, a leading managed service provider require a Unified Communications Consultant to act as Lead Consultant providing expert deployment of projects through pre-Build, installation and testing.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong telecommunications background
  • Proven background with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity/Unity Connection and Instant Messaging and Presence Servers
  • Proven background in designing large enterprise cucm solutions including; 3rd party application integration, TDM integration with traditional PABX Switches, call recording, voice messaging, call logging, gateways (SIP, E1 and analogue), FAX/Fax gateway integration, survivable telephony (SRST)
  • Comfortable and able to operate within a Presales and Technical Lead role.
  • Extensive experience of working in a consultative manner at a senior level with Clients,
  • Extensive experience of complex project delivery, UC upgrades and migration planning
  • Advanced understanding of engineering principles/practice.
  • Excellent reporting writing skills
  • Good customer facing communication skills - presentations, meeting control, qualification, etc.

Technologies:

In-depth knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection and IM&P technologies

With experience in the following areas:

  • Cisco HCS and CUCDM deployment and operational experience
  • Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (Unified CVP), ICM, VXML and Scripting
  • Contact centre Express - deployment and Scripting
  • Jabber deployment experience - windows and mobile devices
  • CUBE - Enterprise or Service Provider
  • Calibrio/NICE/Verient voice recording
  • VMware - basic knowledge and navigation of vSphere environment
  • Cisco UCS experience - building B and C class server deployments
  • IP routing and WAN switching - MPLS, VRF, routing protocols
  • Cisco Unified messaging integration with MS Exchange

Job Specification:

  • Lead technical role in deployment of solutions, including coordination of multi-disciplined teams
  • Design and propose robust, supportable and fit for purpose solutions
  • Smooth Integration of the organisations enterprise communications, collaboration and contact centre services
  • Timely response with quality content to Client requests for documentation and information.

  • Provide UC Technical expertise across the business
  • Produce quality customer UC design documentation - excellent written skills
  • Produce engineering build-level configuration scripts and configuration detail
  • Develop comprehensive Factory and User Acceptance Test plans
  • Develop, document and present detailed unified communications system upgrade solutions. Technical management of all aspects of a UC upgrade project
  • Expert in Cisco Unified Communications Manager design and build. Installation and commission of core cloud based UC applications - unified communication manager, unity connection, instant messaging and presence, video, IP endpoints, SBC, etc.
  • Develop, document and present detailed UC migration planning methodology.
  • To author, and remain responsible for, a detailed suite of documentation for the purposes of project handover to both Clients and in-life management
  • Enabler and leader of significant Collaboration change
  • Engage with and evaluate new UC technologies working closely with strategic business partners.
