Reporting to: Head of IT
Location: London office
Job Purpose - Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript)
As Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript), you will be responsible for the maintenance and refinement of a recently developed in-house CRM system, as well as several integrated b2b facing websites.
A self-starter who is able to manage their own time, you will have proven experience of driving the development of the project forward and ensuring that key milestones are met, while producing high-standard code in a professional environment.
Your organisation and delegation skills will be highly honed, and you will have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff, and to gather and translate business requirements into achievable, cost-effective specifications.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working to a specification, but also have the ability to analise businesses processes and work flows, improving upon them with well-written, elegant code.
Duties & Responsibilities - Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript)
•Maintain and manage the continued development of all the Frieze Events b2b sites
•Manage GIT repositories/code bases
•Manage deployments and provide support/maintenance for LAMP stacks
Budget Responsibilities - Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript)
•Provide updates and forecasts to Head of IT
Key Stakeholders
•Cross-functional working with COO, Head of IT and internal teams: publishing and editorial, VIP, exhibitor relations, sponsorship, design, operations and finance
Technical requirements - Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript)
•A proven track record of writing extensible web-based PHP/MySQL applications
•Experience in OOP/MVC frameworks
•Proficiency with SugarCRM (desirable)
•Strong skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
•Knowledge with CMS frameworks (Drupal, Joomla or ExpressionEngine desireable)
•Knowledge of PHP frameworks (Yii, Zend or equivalent)
•Ability to build to a specification
•Strong organisational/communication skills
Required experience and competencies for the Lead Developer (Developer, SQL, JavaScript) role
•Proven track record in delivering complex web applications to deadlines
•Experience analyzing user workflows and business processes, and translating them into code
•Ability to manage one's time effectively
•Ability to communicate with non-tech staff to gather requirements and produce technical specifications is desirable
•An interest in arts and culture and a good sense of humour are desirable
Salary & Benefits
40-45K per annum, depending on experience
